This is the second book in what is called the The Apprentice Series.
I have been going through this series with a small group. It is a guide to spiritual formation using the Sermon on the Mount. The author calls this the greatest sermon ever given. The pattern for each chapter is to discuss a ‘false narrative’ that we are likely to have learned in our life. This day has been going on for nearly 16 hours and there are things left undone. Time does not wait for anyone. Therefore the advice from the apostle, ‘making the best use of the time.’ When I think back over the day, there is some time that I could have used more wisely. There is some that could have been used in different ways. But, that is behind me forever now and I have opportunities that will come tomorrow. Lord, give me the wisdom to use time wisely. Amen.
With coffee in hand I come to the Scriptures. It is difficult to find a more peaceful time than this. Today I read 1 Cor. 1 – 9 and Psalms 112 – 114. Lord, speak to me!
